Prize Pack: Kate Gradical Eyes A, Majolica Majorca Blooming Dream Eyes, Canmake Shimmer Jelly Eyes, Canmake Nudy Gloss Rouge

Dina surprised me with additional items to her giveaway prize pack, just because it was my birthday (which means that this entry is slightly behind time ;D). Thank you so much hun, I really appreciate your generosity and thoughtfulness ^^ And congrats on reaching so many followers!!

Name: Kate Gradical Eyes A OR-1
Contents: 4.1 g
@cosme rating: 4.8
Release date: 1.2.2010

Gradical Eyes A is the fourth generation eyeshadow palette in Kate’s Gradical Eyes collection. It was preceded by Gradical Eyes, Gradical Eyes N and Gradical Eyes S. Gradical Eyes A has four gradational shades and a "long fix" formula cream base.

The Reflect Mirror Eyes range had beautiful colours but to me they are a disappointment due to the total lack of pigment. The shadows in Gradical Eyes A are total opposites - they have good colour payoff for such light shades! They are also creamy, smooth and they stay on my lids without creasing. Nonetheless I noticed that the textures of these powder shadows aren’t consistent - the darkest shade is drier than the rest.

All in all, this quint restored my faith in Kate, and I shall expand my collection with the BR or GY shades (preferably when they go on sale → el cheapo haha!).

Name: Majolica Majorca Blooming Dream Eyes 02 Midnight Dream
Contents: 3.5 g
@cosme rating: 3.8
Release date: 21.4.2010

This limited edition Majolica Majorca quad comes in a cardboard case. It contains four eye shadows: a translucent eye gloss with colourful sparkles, a white cream based eye base, a shimmery pale lavender nuance color and a shimmery light purple shadow color.

The white cream eye base is welcome addition as I find myself reaching for cream shadows more often these days. I enjoy using the pink and purple powder shadows, they are soft and pigmented. Regrettably, I tend to overlook the sparkly eye gloss when I reach for this quad – it doesn’t do anything.

Midnight Dream is definitely a pretty item to own, but not a must-have =]

Name: Majolica Majorca Lash Expander Frame Plus
Contents: 6 g
@cosme rating: 4.6
Release date: 21.1.2009

I don’t suppose I need to add my 2 cents on Lash Expander Frame Plus. It is one of the most popular mascaras for lengthening but it is amazingly hard to remove.

Name: Canmake Shimmer Jelly Eyes 02 Sugar Milk Tea
@cosme rating: 4.3
Release date: 6.4.2010

According to the Canmake site, Shimmer Jelly Eyes is waterproof and therefore also sweat proof. This range is also supposed to last all day long.

02 Sugar Milk Tea is a shimmery beige. It has medium pigmentation - you can layer it easily if you think it is too sheer. It comes with a sponge tip applicator.

Name: Canmake Nudy Gloss Rouge 05 Honey Latte
@cosme rating: 4.2
Release: 2009

Nudy Gloss Rouge comes in six different shades. They are packaged in a clear tube with a brush applicator. The shade that I received from Dina, 05 Honey Latte, is a nude beige.

I fell in love with it the moment I applied it on my lips - the formula is creamy and pigmented enough to wear alone. It isn’t too sticky which is another plus. However, after a while and of course after meals, I noticed that the gloss settles into my lip lines and makes every line/crack super noticeable! Not an attractive sight at all >.<

I have reviewed some of the babies in the picture above in earlier posts. Do scroll through my August archive if you want to read them.

Thank you for staying with me till the end! ^^

Lavshuca Review: Dual Eyes GN-1, Grade Color Eyes GN-1, Light Mix Eyes BU-1, Melting Eyes BR-1

I decided to review all of the Lavshuca eyeshadow palettes that I own in one entry. It is easier to compare texture, colour payoff etc this way =]

Dual Eyes GN-1 is a light golden bronze paired with dark khaki (from left).

Name: Lavshuca ラヴーシュカ Dual Eyes デュアルプリズムアイズ GN-1

Dual Eyes was discontinued recently, perhaps because they now have the prettier Custom Selective Eyes which debuted in November 2009.

Pigmentation: ★★★★★★★ superb pigmentation with just one swipe
Shimmer: ★★★★☆☆☆ dazzling, but too sparkly for me
Texture: ★★★☆☆☆☆ dry when compared to the other three two series (Light Mix Eyes doesn't count, it has horrendous texture)
Recommend: Yes. I looove the colours in GN-1. I do prefer quads but a duo doesn’t bother me~~

Grade Color Eyes GN-1

Grade Color Eyes GN-1 has a pale yellow, cream, light green and a deep greyish green (from left).

Name: Lavshuca ラヴーシュカ Grade Color Eyes グラデカラーアイズ GN-1
Price: ¥ 1,680 for 2.7 g
@cosme rating: 4.7
Release date: 1.2.2009

Pigmentation: ★★★★☆☆☆ moderately pigmented, the darkest shade has the best colour payoff
Shimmer: ★★★★★★☆ subtle, not over the top at all
Texture: ★★★★☆☆☆ smooth although it is incomparable to Melting Eyes
Recommend: Yes! I’m essentially getting three colours because the two lightest are similar when on my lids. Thankfully the other quads in this range have more distinctive shades.

Melting Eyes BR-1

Melting Eyes BR-1 has a taupe brown, champagne, tan and dark brown (clockwise from bottom left).

The design of the case is more intricate compared to the previous releases

BR-1 is supposedly a dupe for Lunasol’s legendary 04 Neutral from the Lighting For Eyes series. I might do a comparison later on since I own both quads.

Pigmentation: ★★★★★☆☆ pigmented and buildable
Shimmer: ★★★★★★☆ elegant and refined
Texture: ★★★★★★★ soft, buttery smooth, the best amongst the four. It even tops some of the high end eyeshadows that I own!
Recommend: YES!! Plus it gets lots of additional points for having a nice girly packaging.

Colours available:

Lavshuca is a pretty good brand to look into if you’re in the market for drugstore Japanese eyeshadow palettes. They have good quality eyeshadows and I read that their lipsticks are pretty good as well. Definitely a brand worth purchasing!

faceQ Masks Review: Red Pomegranate + CoQ10, Luffa + Adlay, Grape Seed + Green Tea, Ocean + Aloe

(Source: faceq.sp88.com/)

faceQ masks are manufactured by the same company that fabricates My Beauty Diary masks.

Texture: The fabric is thin and soft. It is made from 100% wood pulp with silk - this material retains moisture two times more than ordinary spun-lace fabrics. I’m very pleased with the cut and proportion of the fabric as it fits the contours of my face quite well.

Weight: 30 g.

faceQ has four flavours and I’m reviewing all four in this entry.

Red Pomegranate + CoQ10

It smells super fruity and good! I love how bright my face is after my masking session.

Ingredients:

Luffa + Adlay

The nice light scent doesn’t bother me at all. My face feels super smooth and soft after using this flavor. I felt that it soothed and calmed my face very well; my nose and cheeks weren’t as red and oily the next day ← used this flavour after an extraction session

Ingredients:

Grape Seed + Green Tea

This flavour doesn't smell as delicious as I hoped it'd be; it doesn't smell like grapes at all o.O On the plus side, it has all the criteria that I look in a mask – it made my face feel bouncy, plump and bright!

Ingredients:

Ocean + Aloe

This is my favourite amongst the four! It has a light subtle pleasant scent, nothing strong like the ones from MBD. I noticed a pronounced difference to my hydration level the next day, my face looked so clear and supple!

Ingredients:

My skin absorbs the leftover essence instantly which is my main requirement in a sheet mask besides the obvious - doesn’t break me out. My face has gotten lighter than my neck after using them (haven't decided whether this is a good or bad thing yet ahaha)~~ I absolutely adore these masks from faceQ to bits and would recommend them to all of you!!

My verdict:
#1 Ocean + Aloe
#2 Luffa + Adlay
#3 Grape Seed + Green Tea
#4 Red Pomegranate + CoQ10

I'm glad that I have easy access to them =]
